Previous experience in preparing UK CT returns, including tax accounting (2+ years)
Experience in managing a small team – this will include work prioritisation for the team and being the main point of contact with the UK team.
Job/Workflow & Technical Management
Successful preparation of all relevant client corporate tax work (generally compliance) and ensure self-review of common errors.
Review the corporate tax work of the other team members.
Monitor work progress on allocated tasks and update job workflow
Ensure full implementation of all client corporate tax work in line with ‘The KR Way standards of performance’ document, with completed returns ready for review and sign off in line with the review process
Monitor work progress and ensure appropriate levels of communication with all stakeholders on progress for each key task or phase
Developing corporate tax technical skills and keeping up to date through training courses, appropriate research and identification of changes in legislation, HMRC policy and as a result of cases.
Leadership, People Management and Development
Supervise and support others who are involved in production and delivery of corporate tax work
Ensure clear task plans and milestones for each piece of corporate tax work
Provide feedback to all team members involved in specific corporate tax work on adherence to standards, errors, learnings and opportunity for value add
Support the training of others in Vitae on Alpha Tax software where required
Assist in the general technical development of other team members
